Adoption
Community Connections completes adoptions for children in the custody of DFACS. Those interested in adoption will begin by initially following the same training requirements as foster parents. The pre-service training class is designed for both foster and adoptive parents and allows participants to determine what type of child(ren) will best suit their family.
Children with special needs for adoption in Georgia include:- Any African American child older than one year
- Any child over the age of eight
- Sibling groups of three or more placed together
- Sibling groups of two or more where one child is eight or older or who has another identified special need
